8 natural wood cleaners

Wood does very well, but it is very sensitive. This is why natural wood cleaners are often the best way to care for wooden furniture. They achieve the same or even better results than chemical cleaning products and at the same time protect the environment.

However, it is important to note the  type of wood and what goal you are pursuing. Accordingly, you should choose one of the various wood cleaners that we will then introduce to you.

1. Nuts as a wood cleaner

Yes, you heard right. Nuts are a great way to clean wooden surfaces. They contain oils that give the piece of furniture a new shine and look after it wonderfully.

Simply shell a few  nuts and cut them in half and rub the wooden surfaces with them. This is how the oil can work and the wood can be gently cared for.

2. Wine vinegar and olive oil

You will get wonderful results with these two simple ingredients.

  • Mix equal parts wine vinegar and olive oil, use it to dampen a cloth and clean the wooden surfaces. Let this mixture sit for about an hour.
  • After that, you can use some wax to make the wood shine.

This trick is very effective because the oil moisturizes the wood and the vinegar removes dirt.

Once the wood surface is dry, you can simply use a cotton cloth  to polish the wood. The result can be seen.

3. Mayonnaise

If you want to remove stains caused by liquids on the wood,  a little mayonnaise will do.

Apply this to the stains and wait for it to dry completely. Then you can remove the mayonnaise residue with a cloth. A great wood cleaner.

4. cork

If you want to remove marks on the wood,  you can simply rub the surface with a cork and then clean it.

If the mark or stain has been around for a long time, it is better to make a mixture of ash and gasoline. Apply this to the stain with a cloth and rub the area with it to remove any traces.

5. Vaseline

If you see scratches or cracks on your wood furniture, petroleum jelly can be very helpful as a wood cleaner.

For this to work effectively, it is best to apply a layer directly to the wood and let the Vaseline work (the longer, the better).

Then all you have to do is clean the furniture and remove the vaseline residue.

If you want to restore small dents, it’s best to place a damp cloth on the spot and then apply the heat of the iron.

You will see how the dents get smaller with it.

6. Lukewarm water

If you want to remove paint residue from a piece of furniture, warm water is sufficient.

Use a detergent and mix it with some warm water. Remove the paint residue with this mixture and a cloth.

After that, all you have to do is remove the product with water and dry the wood with a cloth.

7. ammonia

To treat wooden patio furniture and remove mold, you can dissolve a little ammonia in a liter of lukewarm water.

Put this mixture on a cloth and use it to clean the furniture.

8. Lemon juice

Another very easy way to make wood shine is to combine lemon juice or a few drops of lemon oil with vegetable oil. You can use it to clean your wooden furniture perfectly with a sponge.
