If you like it sweet, you can use jam for breakfast in the morning. If only there wasn’t always the high sugar content … But don’t worry, you can also make sugar-free jam yourself , which tastes at least as delicious.

Did you know that the word “jam” comes from the Portuguese term “marmelada”? What is meant is a quince jam in which a fruit that contains pectin and sugar is cooked.

In the following, however, you will learn about homemade recipes that do not contain any artificial sweeteners, if you would like to avoid these additives.

So if you choose fruits like the kiwi or pineapple, sugar is no longer necessary, as they are already very tasty and also rich in vitamins and minerals.

Recipes for sugar-free jam

1. Sugar-free jam made from kiwi fruit

Kiwi jam

The kiwi is one of the best-known and most widely consumed fruits. It has a lot of vitamin C and essential minerals such as magnesium, copper and potassium. It also contains high amounts of fiber and stimulates digestion.

Their consumption is recommended to prevent degenerative and cardiovascular diseases and certain types of cancer.


  • 7 ripe kiwi fruit (280 g)
  • 2 tbsp stevia (30 g)
  • 2 tbsp honey (30 ml)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tbsp flavor-free powder gelatin (15 g)
  • 3 tbsp water (45 ml)


  • First, peel and crush the kiwi fruit in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Put the lemon juice in a saucepan with the stevia, heat it over medium heat and add the kiwi pieces.
  • Then mix the gelatin with a little water in another saucepan. Wait until the mixture has cooled down a bit and then add it to the pot with the kiwi fruit.
  • Then add the honey and the 3 tablespoons of water so that the mamelade does not remain too thick. Let everything cook a little longer and then take the pot off the stove.
  • The jam should cool before you pour it into a glass container. Then place them in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

2. Sugar-free jam made from pineapple

Pineapple jam

The pineapple is probably one of the tastiest types of fruit and is perfect for a homemade sugar-free jam.

It has an intense taste and important properties: As a diuretic and detoxifying fruit, it helps to eliminate toxins that accumulate from poor nutrition.

It is also rich in vitamin C, folic acid and minerals such as magnesium, sodium, manganese and iron. The pineapple is particularly effective for digestion, which is why it is often recommended for weight loss.


  • 1 ripe pineapple (350 g)
  • 2 tbsp apple pectin (30 g)
  • 1 tbsp stevia (15 g)
  • Juice of half a lemon


  • Peel and cut the pineapple into small pieces and place them in a saucepan with the lemon juice and apple pectin over medium heat.
  • Stir everything for 10 minutes until the pineapple has dissolved well.
  • Then add the stevia and stir for another 10 minutes (you can use more stevia if you want).
  • Take the pot off the stove and wait a few minutes for everything to cool down.
  • Finally, put the mixture in an airtight mason jar and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Sugar-free jam made from apples

Apples are made up of 85% water plus vitamins A, B, C and E. They are low in fats, which is why they can be used effectively for weight loss or to combat constipation.

Apples are recommended for diabetics as they control the amount of blood sugar. They also help prevent cardiovascular diseases and balance cholesterol levels.


  • 3 green apples (600 g)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup agave syrup (120 g)
  • 3 tbsp water (45 ml)


  • Wash, peel and cut the apples into small pieces before you put them in a saucepan with the lemon juice and water on medium heat.
  • Stir well for 10 minutes until the apples dissolve.
  • Add the agave syrup to give the jam flavor. Then keep stirring until everything thickens.
  • Take the pot off the stove, let it cool, and put the finished jam in an airtight jar. Let them sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
